Not every service we provide with regards to storage and management of information, is digital. Storage and management of hard copy records will be an ongoing necessity as we transition toward a paperless business environment. It is extremely important both financially and legally, that these records be monitored and managed on a consistent basis.
Many companies do not have an actual Records Manager to oversee this function. The responsibility is usually assumed by personnel from various departments like Finance, Accounting, Purchasing, and Legal. It is difficult enough for these individuals to meet their core job demands, much less having to maintain some semblance of a cost effective records management program.

- In-house vs. Off-site storage. Which way really makes better economic sense?
- Going off-site. How do you go about initiating a Request for Quote (RFQ) and what are the appropriate items to address and ask for?
- How to evaluate each vendor's RFQ to determine which is really the most cost effective. Many times it is not the one with the lowest storage rate.
- Facilitating and management of a move to a new storage vendor. Are there ways to minimize fees?
- Evaluation and renegotiation of existing contracts. If you have been with a vendor for many years, are you paying current fair market rates?
- On-going administration. Is new inventory being sent in with appropriate descriptions/retention dates? Is the current authorized user list up to date? Are monthly costs being monitored and are there ways to reduce these costs?
